Terms & conditions
The purpose of this scheme is to enable people to financially contribute to the long term care of the sailing vessel Provident. The scheme will be operated in good faith by Angels Share Sailing Holidays Ltd. (The Company that owns Provident). The money generated by this scheme will be used at the company’s’ discretion to contribute towards the maintenance of Provident. It is intended that the money raised will be used for more major maintenance tasks. Typically these would be tasks that would normally require specialist contractors such as shipwrights or engineers. However the exact projects that the money is used for will be at the sole discretion of the Company.
To become a member and be included in prize draws a direct debit of £5 per month or £60 per year must be set up and kept active.
Individuals may hold multiple memberships to be placed in the prize draw at £5 per month each.
When we receive your direct debit instruction we will send you a free and exclusive, one size fits all “I’m a friend of Provi” beanie hat for you to wear with pride. Only Keep Provident Sailing members will have beanies. There will not be available to buy separately.
We will create two copies of your membership cards. The cards will be identically marked with your membership numbers. We will send you one copy and keep the other.
Within seven days of the 100th member signing up we will put all our copies of the membership cards into a ditty bag and draw one card at random. The corresponding member will be notified by email. This email will include a voucher with a value of £1000. This can be used in part or full payment towards a holiday on board Provident selected from the sailing program on our website. The voucher has no cash value. No cash alternative will be offered.
If the cost of the holiday exceeds £1000 the member will pay the balance according to our standard terms and conditions.
If the cost of the holiday is less than £1000 the balance can be used towards the cost of a second holiday.
The winning member must make all bookings with the voucher within 12 months of the notification email. After this the voucher will be void.
If the number of members does not reach 100 a draw will not be held.
A further draw will be held every 12 months from the date of the first draw.
If the membership exceeds 200, then two cards will be drawn from the next draw and so on per 100 memberships.
The voucher is transferable. It can be gifted by the winning member to another person.
The voucher is divisible. A part of the voucher can be gifted to another person.
All bookings made with this scheme are subject to the standard terms and conditions published on our website. Although in the event of a holiday being cancelled by the company no cash refund will be given against the value of the voucher and the voucher can be transferred to another trip.
Winners must agree to being photographed, videoed, interviewed etc… and to these recordings being published through any means by the company for promotional purposes.
The company will use their best endeavours to keep the scheme going but plans involving boats are unpredictable. The scheme may be cancelled at any time by the company. In this event all direct debits will be cancelled by the company. No further draws will be held, no refunds of previous payments will be made. We will aim to honour any bookings made using a voucher but in exceptional circumstances this may not be possible.
The company will keep a data base of members information including names and email addresses. This information will not be shared or used for reasons not described in these terms. The company will abide by all GDPR requirements.
We may from time to time contact members by email with information about the scheme or any other matters relating to the Company. Please let us know if you do not want to be included in this.
The company will keep all members up to date by email about the way the funds raised are being used.
